What To Expect

Step 1: TOPKAPI PALACE

After meeting your guide at Istanbul Galata Port, you’ll visit Topkapi Palace, the former residence of Ottoman Sultans and the heart of the empire’s administration. Since 1924, it has been a museum showcasing sacred Islamic relics, a grand kitchen, Chinese porcelain, historical weapons, calligraphy, the harem, and the imperial treasury. Among its treasures is the Spoonmaker’s Diamond, the seventh largest diamond in the world.

Step 2: HAGIA SOPHIA

Next, head to the Hagia Sophia, an architectural wonder. Originally built as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian, it held the title of the world’s largest church for a century. Today, it ranks as the fourth largest. After serving as a museum from 1935, the Hagia Sophia now functions both as a mosque and a museum.

Step 3: BLUE MOSQUE

Next on your itinerary is the Blue Mosque, situated directly across from the Hagia Sophia. Renowned for its stunning blue Iznik tiles and its distinctive six minarets, this mosque was constructed in honor of Sultan Ahmet.

Step 4: HIPPODROME

Next, we’ll visit the Hippodrome, once the heart of sports and political life in the ancient city. Among its notable landmarks are the Serpentine Column, the Obelisk of Theodosius, and the German Fountain of Wilhelm II, each adding to the rich history of the site.

Step 5: GRAND BAZAAR

Your final destination is the Grand Bazaar, a historic shopping hub established in 1461. As the largest and most renowned “souk” in the world, it boasts nearly 4,000 shops offering a diverse array of goods, including antiques, jewelry, gold, ceramics, leather goods, carpets, and souvenirs.
