Today, we’ll start our exploration with a visit to the Corinth Canal, a striking waterway that links the Aegean Sea with the Gulf of Corinth. Here, you’ll have a chance to capture photos and marvel at this engineering feat that spares ships the lengthy detour around the Peloponnese peninsula to the Ionian Sea.

Our journey will then take us to the Theater of Epidaurus, celebrated for its remarkable acoustics and still hosting performances, especially during the summer months. We’ll also visit the Archaeological Museum of Epidaurus, which honors the roots of modern medicine.

Next, we’ll travel to Mycenae, where you can explore the ancient Acropolis, the famous Lions Gate, and the Tomb of Agamemnon, uncovering the rich history of this prehistoric site.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue through the central Peloponnese region and arrive in Olympia by early evening. After checking into your hotel, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and a restful night.

Day 3: FROM OLYMPIA TO THE NAVEL OF THE WORLD - DELPHI

In the morning, you’ll explore the historic site of the ancient Olympic Stadium, where the inaugural games took place around 776 BC. These games were of great significance, with Greek cities halting conflicts to participate in the festivities. The Olympiad was a key chronological marker in Greece, marking the four-year interval between each event.

Olympia, the premier sanctuary of Ancient Greece, was dedicated to Zeus, the chief deity. The site featured the renowned statue of Zeus by Phidias, a colossal gold and ivory masterpiece once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Following your visit to the Olympia Museum, you’ll travel across the Rion-Antirion Bridge, an impressive feat of modern engineering, as you make your way to Delphi. Upon arrival, enjoy a delightful dinner and a restful evening.

4

Day 4: FROM ORACLE TO METEORA, KALAMBAKA

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before setting off for Delphi, a revered UNESCO World Heritage site and the center of the ancient Greek world.

In Delphi, you’ll visit the renowned Oracle, who once guided kings and travelers alike. Be sure to explore the Delphi Archaeological Museum, which houses the stunning “Bronze Charioteer,” a renowned piece of Greek art.

After your visit, descend Mount Parnassus and journey to the Thessalian plains, where the charming city of Kalambaka awaits.

Upon arrival in Kalambaka, you can enjoy a hearty dinner and unwind after a day of exploration with a restful evening.

Day 5: FROM KALAMBAKA TO ATTICA - ATHENS

Start your day early with a visit to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. This awe-inspiring region blends natural splendor with the remarkable sight of ancient monasteries perched atop towering rock formations. Today, six monasteries remain active, with five serving male monks and one dedicated to female monastic life.

Please note that a modest dress code is required for monastery visits: sleeveless tops and shorts above the knee are not permitted. If needed, skirts, shawls, and trousers are available at the monastery entrances for visitors to use.

On your return to Athens, you’ll make a brief stop at Thermopylae to view the statue of Spartan King Leonidas, renowned for his valiant stand against the Persians in 480 BC. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive back in Athens and be dropped off at your hotel.

6

Day 6: ATHENS SIGHTSEEING WITH ACROPOLIS, TEMPLE OF ZEUS & NIGHT TOUR
